App Store Optimization
I am a firm believer in App Store Optimization. I take a lot of pride in the fact of not spending money for marketing and user acquisition. This requires a lot of work researching and analysing the App Store ecosystem and dynamics.
Over time, I’ve also been building my own toolset to make common action faster to perform.
My Special Tool
This is what it looks like. I’m the only one using it so visual appeal is certainly not an issue… However, it is certainly efficient. 🙂
Signature: for tracking when using LinkShare links
iTunes US link: generates a LinkShare affiliate url (for US App Store users)
iTunes EU link: generates a TradeDoublr affiliate url (for Euro AppStore users)
GeoRiot link: generates a GroRiot link that automatically applies the correct affiliate network depending on user location.
No Bitly: by default all links are returned shortened. This is to override it.
App name: will search the Apple AppStore for the specified country and return the specified number of results. For each app returned you get link, name and icon.
Make Bitly: shortens any url.
Hints: queries the AppStore hints API as you type (instant)
Get num apps button: queries the US AppStore for all the hints returned and appends number of apps found.
